I offer custom Free Motion Quilting for your treasured quilt tops you don’t dare attempt yourself or have not got the time to finish. Collaborating to create unique designs that enhance and complement your work.
An initial conversation and quote are free. You provide the wadding, backing and thread along with your quilt top and I provided a fixed quote based on my work at £30ph. this includes basting, designing and carrying out the quilting, on my high end Bernina Q20 sit down machine.
To give an idea of costs; a large throw (up to 1.8msq) a simple all over motif would be £120 and a complex multi thread colour design could significantly more. I will be happy to square and bind your quilt (hand sewn finish) if you don’t want to, for a small additional charge.
MACHINE HIRE
Are you local to Kingston-Upon-Thames, England and want to quilt your own work?
I have a top of the range sit down Bernina Q20 machine. You move the quilt so you don’t have to master a whole different free motion quilting technique. I have a quilt support system to easy the movement of large quilts under the machine and rulers if you want to do straight line work.
Hire is by the hour and I will be at hand for advice and if you have issues. You will need to bring practice quilt sandwiches and thread. I provide an introduction to using the machine, refreshment and then you are free to go wild.

The cost of a commission can vary widely depending on the design, size, materials requirements and time spent crafting it. A commissioned quilt is kind of like wedding dress, material are costly, as is time and experience to make it unique/ fit, so expect a similar cost range. But unlike a wedding dress a custom quilt can be used and enjoyed everyday for years and years.
As a guide a large lap sized memory quilt made from clothing provided would be approximately £600 to 800. While an equivalate size art piece would be £3,000 to £5000.
